A home inspection is an objective visual examination of the physical structure and systems of a home, from the roof to the foundation. A comprehensive inspection will follow Department of Consumer Protection Regulations for Home Inspection and further defined by their Standards of Practice established March of 2008.

A Home Inspection includes:

  • Structural components and basement.
  • Electrical, plumbing, domestic water heating, central heating and air conditioning.
  • Condition and general age of major systems.
  • General interior, including ceilings, walls, floors, windows, doors and stairs.
  • Attic, ventilation and insulation.
  • General exterior, including roof, gutter, chimney, major drive and walkways, drainage and grading.

Additional services provided by this office or through approved subcontractors, as needed, include:

  • Pest inspection for termites, carpenter ants, powder post beetles, etc. Sometimes required for FHA and other financing.
  • Radon testing of house air and well water. We use only electronic continuous monitoring machines that provide instantaneous test results.
  • Water quality testing of well water for Coliform bacteria and physical parameters.
  • Recommendations for specialized outside contract services to include septic system inspections, well water yields, mold evaluations, asbestos remediation, etc.
